Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit in an acute inpatient setting
- Manage a patient assignment of up to 1:6 ratio throughout the night shift
- Deliver diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care to inpatient and outpatient populations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to all facility policies, Joint Commission standards, and New Mexico state requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of New Mexico or compact eligibility
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- All required certifications must be obtained and verified prior to start date
- Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel status
- Must comply with New Mexico State fingerprinting requirement (LPNT): fingerprinting must be initiated before hire; clinicians may begin on a 14-day waiver with supervision while results are pending
- Orientation attendance required (held weekly on Mondays)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical setting
- Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and stroke or chest pain center protocols
- Experience working in facilities with similar patient ratios and acuity levels
