Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Knoxville, TN

Key Responsibilities

• Function as a float RN, accepting unit assignments determined by the nursing supervisor based on staffing needs at the time of assignment
• Provide direct patient care across a broad range of specialty units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, trauma, and observation
• Deliver care in accordance with unit-specific patient ratios, which typically run 1:6 but may vary based on census and acuity
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
• Participate in onsite orientation, including completion of non-billable modules averaging 2–4 hours (5 hours maximum)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or a valid compact (multi-state) RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
• BLS certification required
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required for this position
• Ability to float across multiple specialty units as directed by nursing leadership
• 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submittal)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in multiple acute care specialty areas such as med-surg, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, or oncology
• Comfort and adaptability working in a high-acuity float pool environment
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
