    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Float)

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Float across multiple acute care units as assigned by nursing supervisor, including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, trauma, and observation units
    • Deliver direct patient care across varying patient populations and acuity levels with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6
    • Document patient assessments, care plans, and clinical notes using Cerner EMR
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes across assigned units
    • Adhere to facility protocols, infection control standards, and unit-specific policies
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or valid compact (multi-state) RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses not accepted
    • BLS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
    • Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required
    • 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submittal)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience floating across multiple acute care specialties or working in a float pool capacity
    • Familiarity with medical-surgical, oncology, orthopedic, cardiac, or neuro patient populations
    • First-time travelers will be considered
