Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Cardiology (2 West)

Contract | Travel | Nights | 3x12 (18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend | 13 Weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Med Surg / Cardiology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Care for pre- and post-heart catheterization patients, as well as general cardiology patients presenting with chest pain, hypertension, and related conditions
- Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
- Operate standard acute care equipment in accordance with unit protocols
- Maintain BLS and NIHSS (AHA) certifications throughout the assignment
- Float to like units and facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed; expected to be first to float
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Alabama (or compact eligibility)
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Med Surg experience required
- Ability to work every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiology experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Demonstrated acute care clinical skills
- Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented personality with openness to feedback
