Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown – New York
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Central New York

Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM; 64-bed unit with floating required as needed
Highlights:
- Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit specializing in stroke care, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, and general medical-surgical conditions
- Work with adult patient population utilizing specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
- EPIC EMR system in use
- Travel nursing experience required; local candidates welcome
- Navy blue scrubs
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required (may be obtained prior to start date)
Requirements:
- Active New York RN license (must be verified through NURSYS)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
- Documented travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required or must be obtained before start date
- Valid driver's license
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Skills checklist and up-to-date resume required at time of submission
