Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown RN – New York
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Upstate New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; 64-bed unit; floating required as needed
Highlights:- Specialized stroke stepdown unit with diverse case mix including stroke patients, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, and general medical-surgical conditions
- Work with adult patient population requiring intermediate care and monitoring
- EPIC electronic medical record system
- Experience with specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
- Night shift position in a high-acuity stepdown environment
- Opportunity to develop expertise in stroke care and complex medical-surgical cases
Requirements:- Active New York RN license (all state licenses must be active and verified)
- Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical experience with stroke stepdown expertise
- Documented travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required (can be obtained prior to start date)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Completed skills checklist and references
