Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience in a larger hospital (200 beds minimum), level 2 or higher trauma center. Travel experience required unless multiple years of experience in a large level 1 facility. Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred, but not required. License: Active RN License in North Dakota or Compact State Certifications: BLS - (AHA) Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience. - Experience working in a larger hospital (200 beds minimum), level 2 or higher trauma center. - Travel experience required unless multiple years of experience in a large level 1 facility. - BLS certification must be AHA. Description: Registered Nurses in this role will care for Medical Surgical patients and Surgical Oncology patients. The nurse will collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues including physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrated competency is required, and the nurse should practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge. Appropriate age and population-specific standards should be utilized as designated in the assigned clinical setting. The unit has a 47 bed capacity, with a nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts. Floating to other medical surgical units on any campus may be required. Equipment utilized in the unit includes EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry. 1 day of lead center training and 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor are included as part of the orientation program.
