Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7pm - 7am Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: IN license (or compact) required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a facility with 450+ beds. Description: The position requires experience in General Medical and Surgical nursing care. The patient population includes individuals with chronic illnesses such as COPD, diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. Nurses manage gastrointestinal issues like pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Responsibilities include caring for patients with infections such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, and UTIs. The position may involve caring for patients with neurological issues including strokes, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries. Nurses will also work with patients experiencing mental health disorders such as depression and substance abuse. Patients may undergo procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, and minor surgeries. Job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Skills required include utilization of electronic health records, IV therapy management, and operation of various medical equipment. Nurses will float to other medical units as needed. Patient ratios are 1:5-6. The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. Candidates must complete supplemental orientation, which includes general and nursing-specific training. The position requires 12-hour shifts, including 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks.
