Job Title: Med-Surg Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Three 12-hour shifts Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement Certifications: Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months of hire Must-Have: - Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills - Ability to function independently Description: The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates members of the patient care team. The focus is on the provision of individualized quality patient care. Care is consistent with applicable standards. The RN will develop the patient care plan in partnership with physicians and other team members. The patient's involvement and, if applicable, the patient's family's involvement in care planning is essential. The RN demonstrates professional nursing practice skills utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients. Care provided will be appropriate to the age of the patient. The RN shall promote teamwork with medical staff and personnel throughout the hospital. Adherence to hospital policies regarding confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the Americans with Disabilities Act is required.
