Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-Time, Variable ShiftsShift Details
- Full-Time: 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Day or night shift, scheduled as needed
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday shifts required
- 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
- Extended contracts through holidays required
Position Overview
- The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families
- Assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode
- Develops specialized skill in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions
- Provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions
- Accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing
- Expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a Healing Environment
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated; required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues

Required Credentials & Experience
- New York State (NYS) RN Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical environment
