The Registered Nurse develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The Registered Nurse is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care. Assesses patient and family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data or information obtained through direct observation or assessment, technology, or health team communication.
