About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Med Surg to provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The RN will be responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, clinical monitoring, patient education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Med Surg nurse who is comfortable managing multiple patients, prioritizing care, and responding effectively to changing patient conditions in a hospital environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, neurological status, and overall patient condition
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, injections, and treatments according to provider orders
  • Monitor IV lines, drains, catheters, and other patient devices
  • Identify changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers
  • Provide post-operative and medical patient care as assigned
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other treatments within scope of practice
  • Monitor intake and output and maintain accurate clinical records
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, positioning, and transfers
  • Implement fall prevention, infection prevention, and other patient safety measures
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide appropriate post-procedure care
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, disease management, and discharge instructions
  • Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and care coordination
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Follow medication administration, infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations
  • Support quality improvement and evidence-based nursing practices
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg or comparable acute care nursing experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
  • Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts
  • Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements
