Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care - Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS (ACLS preferred) Must-Have: Experience in a high acuity, fast-paced environment; ability to handle patient ratios; strong commitment to patient safety and quality care Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Acute Care - Medical Surgical. Candidates must have 1 year of experience in the specialty with experience in a similar hospital acuity. The unit has a patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1 for both days and nights. Nurses should be familiar with managing patients with diabetes, chronic heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal failure, and dialysis. Additional experience with amputation care, debridement, wound care, deep vein thrombosis, and patients with psychiatric concerns is desired. Nurses will not be required to read cardiac strips but should be able to take assignments if necessary. The nursing team will occasionally work with a certified nursing assistant. The unit also manages continuous positive airway pressure and BiPAP for specific cases. Uniforms must adhere to specified color guidelines, and polished nails are allowed, but artificial nails are not permitted due to infection control regulations. A strict attendance policy is in effect. Candidates should be committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. The facility utilizes a specific charting system for documentation. All candidates must meet the required certifications and maintain a focus on patient safety.
