Location: Coastal North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Holiday availability required. Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks accepted.
Highlights:
- Adult and geriatric medical/surgical patient population with approximately 43 daily census
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with charge role preferred for night shift nurses
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management
- General med/surg acuity including heparin drips, wound vac management, and high flow oxygen
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 24-hour orientation with experienced unit staff
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification required; CPI preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass EKG interpretation testing prior to start date
- Competency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and wound care
- Willingness to participate in inclement weather team assignments
- First-time travelers accepted; charge nurse experience strongly preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Position Details:
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
- Call requirement applies if placed on call for prescheduled shifts
- Required attendance at monthly unit team meetings
- Assignment to storm/hurricane response teams as part of disaster preparedness
- Procedures include BiPAP support with respiratory assistance, heparin protocols, wound vac dressing changes, and peripheral line management
- Navy scrubs required (not provided)
- Up to 7 days pre-approved time off (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
