Job Title: RN II Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required - BLS certification required - ACLS certification required Description: This role involves delivering coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The nurse will supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordination of care with other disciplines is essential. Critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment are required. The nurse will collect relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzing assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues is a key responsibility. A plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes will need to be developed. The nurse will implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluating progress toward attaining outcomes is also included in this role. Identifying outcomes for patients or their situations is necessary. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing a safe and caring environment is critical. Providing learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members will be part of the job. Direct provision of health information to patients, families, and treatment teams is expected. Participation in discharge planning is required to provide continuity of care. The nurse will delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of patients and staff is a priority. Therefore, all associates must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. This position is represented by a union. The department provides general acute care for a mix of both medical and surgical patients. The patient population should not exceed 65% either medical or surgical. For units not fitting this specific description, a discussion for other options may be needed.
