Description:
The unit has 30 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6.
Staffing includes 2-3 techs per shift, a clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director.
Available equipment includes wound vacs, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, and telemetry.
The documentation system used is Editech.
Scheduling does not guarantee block scheduling.
Every other weekend and holiday rotation is required.
The floating policy includes floating between two units.
Positive attitude and meeting the needs of patients and families are essential.
Service recovery must be performed as necessary, with issues escalated through the chain of command.
Advanced skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation are needed.
Procedures performed on the unit include lab draws and IV starts.
Dress code requires navy scrubs; fleece or sweatshirts are not permitted.
Unit-specific policies and guidelines are available.
