Description:
We are seeking nurses to join our post-surgical care unit.
Teamwork is always supported and encouraged among staff.
Strong communication and relationships with providers are a priority, including surgical residents who assist in covering most surgeons 24 hours a day.
Clinical team interviews will be conducted prior to presenting candidates.
Unit capacity includes 32 beds.
The patient population frequently diagnosed includes bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity.
Care is regularly provided to overflow medical and surgical patients from throughout the facility.
Patients must be hemodynamically stable and should not require mechanical ventilation.
Ages of patients served range from young adult through late adult (18 - 60+).
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:6.
The core staffing plan is variable and includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, and nurse interns.
An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
Additional certifications such as NIH may be required.
