Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry in Winston-Salem, NC

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry overflow unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional 1:6. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry overflow unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional 1:6
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and correctly identify and treat dysrhythmias (telemetry monitored remotely by a tech)
• Utilize unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Collaborate with CNAs and interdisciplinary team members to restore physiologic stability, prevent complications, and deliver quality patient care
• Float to sister units as required per unit float policy
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Telemetry skills required; must be able to correctly identify and treat dysrhythmias
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit setting
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Comfort with floating to similar or sister units within a facility
