    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Travel)

    Location

    Wilson, North Carolina

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry/Med-Surg unit serving adult and geriatric populations
    • Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG readings, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
    • Manage patient admissions and discharges in a timely and organized manner
    • Administer medications including basic cardiac drips and perform treatments per physician orders
    • Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, glucometers, and vital signs machines; document care using Meditech EMR
    • Float to Med/Surg overflow areas as needed and collaborate with charge nurses and clinical staff leads
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
    • Ability to work every other or every third weekend (12-hour weekend shifts)
    • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rates
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • BSN preferred
    • Experience with Meditech EMR
    • EKG interpretation skills and familiarity with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, CKD, acute renal failure, uncontrolled diabetes, and post cardiac cath care
    • Team-oriented and flexible personality with strong critical thinking skills
