Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 23 patients across 30 beds
• Manage a patient caseload with day-shift ratios of 1:5, caring for patients with diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, COVID, infectious disease, pre- and post-operative, endocrine, and CVA conditions
• Function within a Certified Stroke Center, applying stroke protocol knowledge as needed
• Float as required to sister units including comparable Med/Surg and Observation units
• Provide every-other-weekend coverage as part of the standard schedule
• Complete pre-start orientation modules prior to assignment start date

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License required and must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC electronic health record experience is a hard requirement
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) training or background — candidates with PCU experience will be prioritized
• Experience caring for stroke, cardiac, or respiratory patient populations
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also considered
