Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, patient ratios 1:5 days / 1:6 nights Highlights: - Certified Stroke Center offering advanced cardiac, stroke, and respiratory care- Diverse patient population including CVA, cardiac, respiratory, infectious disease, and pre/post-operative cases- Epic EMR system with 16 hours of paid orientation- Average daily census of 23 patients across a 30-bed unit- Float capability to sister units (West 2, West 3, Observation) as needed- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology Requirements: - Active New York RN license required prior to submission- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience- Epic charting system experience required- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS- Must reside more than 75 miles from facility location- First-time travelers accepted Essential Skills & Competencies: - IV insertion and maintenance, including PICC line and peripheral line management- Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Blood product administration and heparin/IV insulin protocols- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management- Post-MI care and stroke patient management- Tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, chest tube management- Port access, PCA pumps, and surgical drain management Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a designated Stroke Center with a collaborative interdisciplinary team and a broad case mix that will enhance your critical thinking and clinical skills.
