Key Responsibilities
- Float across units to meet census and staffing needs, supporting a diverse patient population including telemetry, medical-surgical, and ER-boarded patients
- Deliver direct patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
- Fulfill charge nurse duties on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination
- Document patient care and clinical assessments using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
- May be expected to float to nearby sister facilities as needed to support staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
- Charge nurse experience is required
- US-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard traveler (locals are accepted under a separate rate structure)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a cardiac step-down or progressive care unit
- Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
