Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required, with Charge experience preferred. License: Must possess a valid compact RN license. Certifications: Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Must-Have: - Cardiac telemetry experience, including interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Experience in isolation precautions and the management of dysrhythmias. - Familiarity with telemetry. Description: The position is for a PCU/Step Down Float RN who will provide patient care in various units within the facility. Experience in charge roles and cardiac step down is ideal but not required. Shifts will be 3x12 hours, performing duties during the night. Patient ratios will vary, typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity. The RN will work in an interdisciplinary setting, collaborating with various support teams including physical therapy and pharmacy. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with diverse diagnoses, including ER boarded patients and general medical-surgical cases. Charge responsibilities may include managing staffing needs and bed flow, primarily in smaller units. The clinician must have prior experience working in the United States, as Canadian experience alone is insufficient. Availability to float between different units and adapt to varying demands is essential. All requests for time off or scheduling must be submitted during the application process. Additionally, travel personnel may be expected to float between nearby facilities as required. Refusal to float may lead to termination. Communication devices may be provided as needed for the role. Must commit to working a specified number of holidays throughout the contract duration.
