    Contract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week (48 hours/week may be available upon request; overtime may be available after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity cardiac/renal medical-surgical telemetry unit with a 41-bed capacity and a night shift ratio of 1:5–7
    • Monitor and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; travelers are required to pass telemetry competency tests
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, vasopressors, and other cardiac medications (e.g., Cardizem, Tikosyn, Amiodarone)
    • Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
    • Float within skillset to a secondary campus (approximately 8 miles away) and potentially to a third campus in a neighboring state (approximately 11 miles away); 2-hour notice provided for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
    • May be required to precept students and new hires in this teaching facility setting
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active multistate compact RN license
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • AHA ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience managing high-acuity cardiac patient populations including AFib with RVR, flutter, heart blocks, post-ablation, heart cath without intervention, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, and dialysis patients
    • Demonstrated ability to manage antidysrhythmic drips and stable infusions independently
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change and manage a demanding patient load
