    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

    Location

    Evansville, IN | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48 hours available upon request) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity cardiac/renal medical-surgical telemetry unit with a patient population including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, dialysis, and BH/CIWA patients
    • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including passing required telemetry competency testing
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
    • Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
    • Float within skillset to other campuses (up to approximately 11 miles) with a minimum of 2 hours notice for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus may also occur
    • May be required to precept students and new hires in this teaching hospital environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active Compact RN License
    • AHA BLS certification (must be attached upon submittal)
    • AHA ACLS certification (must be attached upon submittal)
    • NIHSS certification (must be attached upon submittal)
    • Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment required; Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with high-acuity cardiac patient populations including heart catheterization (without interventions), post-ablation care, and dialysis patients
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret telemetry and manage antidysrhythmic medication protocols
    • Strong critical thinking, assessment skills, and adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment
