    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Cardiac Renal Unit)

    Location

    Evansville, IN | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity 41-bed Cardiac Renal / Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, dialysis, and BH/CIWA protocols
    • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including passing required telemetry competency assessments
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
    • Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
    • Float within skillset to a secondary campus location with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus may also be required
    • May be required to precept students and new hires in this teaching environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active RN Compact License required
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • AHA ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry RN experience
    • At least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required (competency check-off class will be required upon start)
    • Must not reside within 40 miles of the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with high-acuity cardiac patient populations including heart catheterization without intervention and post-ablation care
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage complex drip protocols and antidysrhythmic medications
    • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and adaptability skills with the ability to manage change effectively
    • Collaborative, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills
