Job OverviewWe are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) with Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, and Critical Care experience for a contract assignment at a leading academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.
The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients requiring telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and medical-surgical nursing while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical patients.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and ventilator support.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Active New York State RN License
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry and Critical Care experience
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
- Ventilator management experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education- BSN preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
