We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) with Medical-Surgical experience for a contract assignment at a leading academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.

The RN will provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to adult Medical-Surgical patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly respond to changes in clinical status.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
  • Follow hospital policies related to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement.
  • Participate in bedside rounding and interdisciplinary care planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Active New York State RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • BSN Required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical experience
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
