Winter Staffing Needs

Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a dynamic float pool position, supporting multiple medical-surgical units within a large healthcare facility. This role is designed for motivated professionals eager to provide exceptional patient care across various specialties.

Position Overview

The RN will work within a float pool, assisting across 15 medical-surgical units, including specialties in neurology, cardiac care, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, oncology, transplant (liver and kidneys), and vascular care. The role encompasses a blend of 8 and 12-hour shifts, with rotating schedules that include day and night shifts as well as every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including nebulizers, and manage patient care effectively.
• Conduct unit-specific procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, lasix gtt, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Maintain patient ratios averaging 4:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts.
• Adapt to varying unit assignments, reporting to designated units with flexibility in schedule adjustments.
• Participate in the nursing orientation program held weekly.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience in a related field.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Basic familiarity with computer systems; experience with Epic is essential.
• Certifications: CPR - AHA and ACLS - AHA required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital along with specialty area expertise is highly desired.
• Level I trauma experience is required.
