Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our dynamic Float Pool, providing care across multiple medical surgical units within a comprehensive healthcare setting.

Shifts and Scheduling

• Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• Rotating days and nights or days and evenings, including every other weekend
• Weekly schedules may vary, with one week consisting of one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Rotations may occur within the same week, with efforts to provide a few days between transitions
• Requests for time off must be noted at the time of submission

Role Responsibilities

As a member of the Float Pool, your key responsibilities include:

• Providing patient care across 15 medical surgical units specialized in various fields including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, hips and joints, oncology, and organ transplantation
• Administering medications such as nebulizers, as well as monitoring telemetry
• Conducting unit-specific procedures, including 12-lead EKGs, Lasix infusions, and blood transfusions
• Maintaining patient ratios averaging 4:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts
• Adapting to assignment changes with potential short notice

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Certifications: CPR (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications; Epic experience is required
• Experience in a teaching hospital and expertise in specialty areas is preferred
• Level I trauma experience is required

Orientation and Additional Information

Orientation sessions are conducted weekly on Mondays, except during holidays. All scrubs are permissible, and parking may incur daily costs while working daytime shifts. Public transportation options are readily available.
