Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Med Surg setting, specifically within a Cardiac/Neuro unit. This role is tailored for professionals with substantial experience and proficiency in handling cardiac and neurological patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac and neuro conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient health status, documenting any changes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on health management and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in cardiac and neuro nursing care.

Shift Notes

This position involves working 12-hour night shifts, with a requirement of 36 to 48 hours per week. Additionally, nurses will be expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of current experience in Med Surg, Cardiac, or Neuro nursing is required.
• Experience with telemetry is required.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly required.
• A willingness to float to other units is required.
• Proficient in Meditech Expanse is preferred.
• Active Massachusetts RN license is required, and it must be uploaded at the time of application.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS must be submitted with the application.
• A personal vehicle is required for this assignment.
• Requests for time off must be included at the time of application, with a maximum of 5 days accepted.

Additional Information

The unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds, and the typical patient ratio is 1:6. Personnel are expected to wear personal scrubs of any color. An 8-hour non-billable orientation is required at the beginning of the assignment.
