Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry for a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly within medical-surgical settings, and will be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and manage their comfort and safety.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and post-operative care.
• Document patient progress and respond to emergencies as needed.

Shift Details

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week; options for 36 or 48 hours based on availability.
• Mandatory every other weekend and holiday work, with specific holidays required.

Floating Requirement

All candidates must be willing to float to any medical-surgical unit as needed.

Additional Information

• Unit size varies from 20 to 34 beds, with a typical patient ratio of 1:6.
• Dress code allows personal scrubs of any color.
• Orientation requirements include 8 hours of non-billable training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Experience with post-operative and orthopedic patients is essential.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly preferred.
• Meditech Expanse experience is highly regarded.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be readily available at the time of application.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts RN license prior to employment.
• A personal vehicle is required for transportation to the assignment.
