Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) position requires a dedicated professional willing to support multiple units within the healthcare facility. This role involves critical responsibilities related to cardiac monitoring, administration of cardiac drips, and interpreting telemetry strips.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across various Med/Surg Tele units.
  • Monitor cardiac activity and interpret telemetry data every four hours.
  • Administer and manage cardiac drips.
  • Assist with the care of patients in diverse settings including the Emergency Department and acute mental health units.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and optimal care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Traveler.
  • Active RN License in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Work Environment

  • Caring for up to 6 patients per nurse on night shifts.
  • Floating between 8 different units with varying bed counts.
  • Utilization of EPIC for electronic medical records (EMR) management.

Unit Details

  • Patients may include those on the border of emergency care, medication management in acute mental health, and transfer-ready non-vented ICU patients.
  • Bed count for units ranges from 8 to 41 beds, accommodating a diverse patient population.

Schedule

This position includes rotating shifts between days, evenings, and nights, with weekend responsibilities as required.
