Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records
• Ability and willingness to float between assigned inpatient units
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical decision-making skills

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established standards
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Float to various inpatient units based on staffing and patient-care needs
• Document patient care accurately in the Epic electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families and support safe transitions of care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions
