Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse Float Pool Contract in Boston, MA

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient medical-surgical float pool supporting 15 units
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Start Date: February 1, 2027
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks, through March 27, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week; 72 guaranteed hours biweekly, excluding on-call time
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating days, evenings, and nights; every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Scrubs: Any color

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of related Registered Nurse experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based healthcare applications
• Experience in a teaching hospital and expertise in a specialty area preferred
• Ability to float between inpatient units and adapt quickly to changing assignments

Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care for adult patients across multiple medical-surgical units
• Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac and clinical status
• Care for patients in neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedic, oncology, transplant, and vascular settings
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and administer nebulizer treatments, Lasix infusions, blood transfusions, and other unit-specific therapies within scope of practice
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for ventilator management while independently administering ordered respiratory treatments
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication administration records using Epic
• Adapt to patient assignments that may change based on unit needs, including receiving an assignment shortly before a shift
• Manage typical patient ratios ranging from approximately 4:1 on days to 6:1 on nights
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote quality outcomes and patient-centered care
