Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Location: Newburyport, Massachusetts
• Healthcare Setting: On-site medical-surgical and telemetry float-pool environment
• Start Date: January 5, 2027
• Contract End Date: February 27, 2027
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week; 72 guaranteed hours every two weeks, excluding on-call time
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; self-scheduling with schedule coordination
• Patient Ratios: Medical-surgical: 5:1 during days/evenings and 6:1 overnight; telemetry: 4:1 during days/evenings and 5:1 overnight

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, adaptability, and patient-care skills in a float-pool setting

Medical-Surgical and Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Float between medical-surgical and telemetry assignments based on staffing and patient-care needs
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments according to established standards and provider orders
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to coordinate effective care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and care transitions
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, patient education, and discharge readiness
