Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty. This position involves providing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including respiratory illnesses, renal diseases, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis.

Shift Information

• Schedule: Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:00
• Offering 36 or 48 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling not guaranteed

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Monitoring patient health and administering medications and treatments
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient care
• Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records using Epic system
• Adhering to floating policies and protocols as necessary
• Providing emotional support and education to patients and families

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with active state licensure (VA license pending submissions accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health records system is essential
• Ability to handle a patient ratio of 1:4 on day shifts/weekends and 1:5 on night shifts
