Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This position is for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse working a 36-hour schedule, primarily on nights and every other weekend. The ideal candidate should be experienced in telemetry nursing with strong neuro assessment skills.

Unit Description

This unit is a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg facility which also accommodates other medical overflow patients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, with at least 2 years working as a traveling nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform neuro assessments and monitor telemetry patients.
  • Interpret telemetry strips effectively.
  • Care for a diverse patient population, including scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients as well as other medical overflow cases.
  • Adhere to clinician-to-patient ratios of 1:4 during day and evening shifts and 1:5 or 1:6 on night shifts.
  • Be prepared to float to other applicable units when requested.
  • Utilize EPIC for electronic medical record charting.

Additional Information

This role may require rotating shifts for day positions, including shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, 11 AM to 11 PM, or 7 PM to 7 AM. Night positions will maintain a consistent schedule.
