Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for winter coverage. This position has an option for an 18-week contract, with the possibility of accepting a 13-week duration as well.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, ECGs, and other telemetry readings.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans.
  • May be required to float to related units to provide care for similar patient populations.

Shifts

This position includes both day and night shifts, rotating between:

  • Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Shifts may be variable as necessitated by operational needs, with a commitment to work at least every other holiday.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid and active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a compact state.
  • Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry nursing.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS from AHA or American Red Cross are required.
  • Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation is mandatory.
