Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves potential floating to various units to provide comprehensive care to patients, including those on ventilators.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemedicine patients across multiple units.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including conducting ECG rhythm recognition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize safeMedicate for medication administration and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Work Schedule

Rotating shifts are available, with a requirement for night (7pm-7:30am) and day (7am-7:30pm) hours. Flexibility may be needed to accommodate operational needs, and the nurse must be willing to work every other holiday.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent nursing experience in the specialty area.
• Current and valid nursing license in Ohio or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is also required.

Orientation and Training

Upon hiring, all nursing personnel will undergo orientation, which includes ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments. An acceptable score on both assessments is necessary for successful completion.
