Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Med-Surg Telemetry – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Must work 12-16 weekend shifts per contract. Patient ratio 1:5-6. Contract length: 13-20 weeks available.

- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 24-hour orientation period with full hospital orientation during first week

Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Med-Surg and Telemetry skills including remote monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, wound care/wound vac, PCA pumps, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and isolation precautions
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Experience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, PICC line management, IV starts, phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Ability to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience a plus
- Experience with port access, CVA patients, surgical drains, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management beneficial
