No Sunday shift, but rotating every other Saturday is required. Writes initial nursing histories and assesses patients' conditions. Develops individual care plans and evaluates their effectiveness. Demonstrates knowledge of care needs for various patient populations. Coordinates and delivers patient care for a group of patients. Directs and assigns patient care tasks to support personnel. Provides direct patient care and consults with other disciplines as required. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage healthcare needs. Maintains documentation in patient records according to regulatory standards. Evaluates care plans through observation and communication with patients and health team members. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment. Ensures equipment is clean and safe. Reports pertinent observations and assists physicians with patient exams and procedures. Performs emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients. Stimulates motivation in team members and encourages participation. Participates in the orientation of new personnel. Acts as a role model in nursing practice. Delivers care that respects client autonomy and maintains confidentiality. Functions as a relief Charge Nurse when assigned. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Engages in professional growth through education programs and workshops. Shares knowledge and skill with colleagues. Adheres to hospital and nursing policies and safety standards. Participates on unit committees as assigned. Responds promptly to patient inquiries and requests. Prioritizes work to provide prompt and efficient service. Attends a percentage of unit staff meetings and reviews meeting minutes. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. May be required to float to other units as needed. Identifies patients to initiate care when necessary.
