Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs. Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying patient needs and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized plans of care for patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiating assessments based on patient problems, physician medical diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care.
• Documenting care based on standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocating for evidence-based practice care standards and supporting the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Providing patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of prior RN experience working in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit in a major acute care hospital setting.
• Strong Med Surg/Telemetry background.
• ASN degree.
• NIHSS certification.
• Telemetry certification.
• BLS-AHA certification.
• CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours certification.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN degree.

Additional Information:
• Soft skills preferred: Great communication, teamwork, and compassion.
• Extremely busy, 52-bed medical surgical unit.
• Patients could be step-down patients at times.
• Patient assignment is 1:4 or 1:5.
