Experience: Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Med Surg/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required.
License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license required.
Certifications: NIHSS, Telemetry, BLS-AHA, CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours required.
Must-Have: Strong Med Surg/Tele background required.
Description:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.
Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient needs.
Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Develops, implements, and coordinates an individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
Initiates assessment based on the patient’s problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
Manages care of patients.
Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
Provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Schedule requires every other weekend.
No on-call requirement.
Floating required.
Soft skills preferred include great communication, teamwork, and a compassionate disposition.
The unit is extremely busy with 52 beds.
Patients could be step-down patients at times.
Patient assignment is typically 1:4 or 1:5.
Scrubs should be navy blue.
