Description:
This position involves evening and night shifts, working 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Weekend and holiday rotations will be based on operational needs.
The ideal candidate must have two years of acute care experience within the last three years.
Experience with the Epic charting system is essential.
Registered Nurse must possess either a Wisconsin RN license or a compact RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, from the American Heart Association only, is required.
The traveler will need to pass a telemetry exam prior to starting.
Patient care will be provided in a fast-paced 28-bed medical-surgical unit.
Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
The candidate will work with nursing staff to care for patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses.
In this role, the nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice changes.
Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team will be required in planning and executing the plan of care.
Travelers will be expected to float to other units as needed.
The position involves managing a patient ratio of up to 6 patients per nurse.
The unit supports patients with various diagnoses, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, and more.
Preferred qualifications include previous charge experience and community hospital experience.
Essential skills include management of dysrhythmias, wound care, and administration of medications and infusions.
