Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated and experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care across multiple Med/Surg Tele units. This role requires flexibility and a strong cardiac monitoring skill set, along with the ability to support a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive cardiac monitoring and administer cardiac drips.
• Interpret telemetry strips and conduct interval measurements every four hours.
• Float between various units, including Med/Surg Tele areas and mental health units, as needed.
• Care for patients in the emergency department and assist with non-vented patients in the ICU.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of acute care hospital experience.
• At least two years of experience as a Traveler Registered Nurse.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Experience with TR Band and cardiac drips.
• Active Massachusetts RN License and current AHA BLS certification required; ACLS certification is preferred.

Patient Care Information:

• Clinician to Patient Ratio: Days & Evenings up to 5:1; Nights up to 6:1.
• Patient population includes ED border patients, acute mental health unit patients, and ICU transfer-ready patients.
• Unit bed counts range from 8 to 41 beds.

Work Schedule:

• Shift options available are 36 or 48 hours per week, covering Nights and every other weekend.
• Rotation between days, evenings, and nights as needed.

Charting and Documentation:

• Utilize EPIC as the electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and patient management.
