Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a float pool position. The ideal candidate must be adaptable and willing to float to multiple units throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients on cardiac monitoring and manage cardiac drips.
• Interpret telemetry strips regularly, adhering to hospital protocols.
• Float throughout the hospital to various Med/Surg Telemetry areas as needed.
• Utilize EMR charting system, specifically EPIC, for accurate patient record-keeping.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring timely communication with the healthcare team.

Experience Required

Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience and 2 years of experience as a traveler in a nursing role is preferred.

Skills Required

• Strong telemetry monitoring skills, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Experience with TR Band and knowledge of cardiac drips.
• Ability to handle a clinician to patient ratio of up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 at night.

Patient Population

The Telemetry RN will care for diverse patient populations, including those in the ED border and acute mental health units, as well as non-vented ICU patients who are ready for transfer.

Rotation Requirements

Must be willing to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts with a contract specification of 1 to 3 rotations to nights.

Certifications and License

• Active Massachusetts RN License is required.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Additional Information

Free on-site parking is available for all staff. The facility encompasses various units with a total bed count of 371, and census ranges from 8 to 41 beds per unit.
