Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for our Float Pool. This position requires flexibility to float to a variety of units and involves night shifts and weekends. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and monitoring telemetry patients across multiple medical/surgical telemetry areas.

Unit Description

The role involves floating throughout the facility to various Med/Surg Telemetry areas to ensure optimal patient care delivery. Nurses will be tasked with monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, administering cardiac drips, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver a continuum of care.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years of acute care hospital experience is preferred.
• 2 years of experience working as a Traveler is required.

Skill Sets Required

• Telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every four hours.
• Experience with TR Band applications.
• Capability to administer cardiac drips and effectively interpret telemetry strips.

Patient Care Standards

• Clinician to patient ratio during Days & Evenings: up to 5:1.
• Clinician to patient ratio during Night shifts: up to 6:1.
• Care for ED border patients and medication administration in the acute mental health unit.
• Management of non-vented patients who are transfer-ready in the intensive care unit.

Facility Details

• Bed count: 371.
• Unit bed range: 8 to 41 beds.

Rotation Requirements

Candidates should be open to rotating across different shifts, including 1 to 3 rotations to night shifts as per the contract.

EMR System

The electronic medical record (EMR) system in use is EPIC.

Certifications Required

• Active RN License in Massachusetts.
• AHA BLS Certification.
• AHA ACLS Certification.
