Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Experience Required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Community hospital experience required - Previous charge experience preferred Description: PCU Registered Nurse required. Ratios are 1:5. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be needed as required by the unit. Must work a minimum of 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, including a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Clinician floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs. Certifications including BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, and CPI are required. Skills in MS/Tele units, telemetry oncology, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown are necessary. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, management of dysrhythmias, and telemetry monitoring on the unit. Experience with post cardiac angiogram and pre/post cardiac catheter management is required. Knowledge of feeding tube care and management is necessary. Skills in renal failure management and phlebotomy are required. Experience with medication administration, including heparin protocols and medication management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, is essential. Management of CVAs and surgical drains is necessary. Respiratory skills including chest tube management, CPAP/BIPAP use, and interpretation of arterial blood gases are required. Understanding of isolation precautions and wound care is needed. Professional experience with telemetry monitoring and comprehensive patient care in adult and geriatric populations is necessary. Candidate must be flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the unit and patient care. Regular communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential for ensuring patient safety and care quality. All candidates must be prepared for potential floating to other departments, units, and facilities as needed.
