Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Cardiac telemetry skills Blood product administration Central line and peripheral line management Starting and maintaining IVs Post-operative care experience Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a telemetry unit. The average daily census is 29 patients. There are 30 rooms/beds in the unit. Candidates must have experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing. The role will require managing patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Duties include monitoring telemetry and managing cardiac drips without titration. Care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, CHF, and altered mental status is essential. The nurse will administer medications and blood products as needed. Providing care for surgical patients and managing drains and tubes is required. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a key component of the role. Isolation precautions and wound care management are part of the responsibilities. The candidate must be comfortable using rapid response and code teams. Floating may be required within the service line to meet facility needs. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.
