The average daily census is 29 patients. There are 30 rooms/beds in the unit. Candidates must have experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing. The role will require managing patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Duties include monitoring telemetry and managing cardiac drips without titration. Care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, CHF, and altered mental status is essential. The nurse will administer medications and blood products as needed. Providing care for surgical patients and managing drains and tubes is required. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a key component of the role. Isolation precautions and wound care management are part of the responsibilities. The candidate must be comfortable using rapid response and code teams.
